1990–1996
The Beginning & Entering the Mainstream
Daffodil began its journey with Daffodil Computers Ltd. in 1990, combining ICT products, technical support, and training. The foundation was clear from the start: technology should create capability and opportunity. Between 1994 and 1996, the Group expanded into government and corporate technology markets and established international technology relationships. By launching the country’s first "Computer Superstore" in 1995, we strengthened our position in Bangladesh's emerging ICT sector. Key Concerns Established: Daffodil Computers Ltd.

1997–2002
Technology Meets Education & Digital Foundations
The establishment of the Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) in 1997 marked a defining transition - using technology not only as a business, but as a means of developing future-ready human capital. By the turn of the millennium, Daffodil expanded rapidly into ISPs, web and e-commerce, digital employment services (like jobsbd.com), and enterprise software. The establishment of Daffodil International University (DIU) in 2002 marked a major institutional milestone, alongside our participation in the monumental government railway reservation ticketing initiative driven by Daffodil Software Ltd. Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) set up to educate young generation in IT and give the opportunity to earn degree of International Standard in computing, business & accountancy with affiliation of NCC.
2003–2012
Building Human Capital & Connecting Opportunity
The Group significantly broadened its mission from technology to large-scale education, skills, professional development, and social impact. We established the Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI), Daffodil International College (DIC), Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI), and the Daffodil Foundation. Throughout this decade, Daffodil strengthened the connection between education, technology, employability, and industry, while expanding international academic engagement and initiatives designed to make technology and education universally accessible. Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI) started its operation to train and educate the youths of the country in technical and professional skills.
2013–2021
From Learning to Enterprise & Expanding the Platform
The Group began building a stronger entrepreneurship ecosystem. We focused heavily on supporting enterprise development, incubation, entrepreneurship education, and industry collaboration through the launch of Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited (BVCL). We continued to broaden our institutional and business portfolio, expanding our footprint with ventures like Amar Securities Ltd, creating a highly diversified organizational platform connecting talent, technology, enterprise, and capital. Daffodil Group makes a joint venture agreement with BBP Advisory Limited (Japan) to set up new venture "Daffodil Japan Institute of Technology (DJIT)".
2022–Present
Becoming a Connected Global Ecosystem
A new generation of ventures and institutions - including DIST, DUSC, and the Daffodil Response Center - reinforced our evolution into a diversified, globally connected ecosystem. Daffodil International University (DIU) achieved remarkable international standing, securing prominent placements in the QS World University Rankings and gaining global recognition for its impact on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Today, the Group stands as a premier socially responsible conglomerate, pledging a significant portion of its success directly back into national development.
