Daffodil Polytechnic held its Laptop Distribution Ceremony 2026, continuing its “One Student One Laptop” initiative, which has been supporting students since 2019. The initiative recognises students’ academic performance and provides free laptops to help them develop the digital skills needed to become competent and confident diploma engineers.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, at the auditorium of Daffodil Polytechnic in Dhaka, where 24 students from different departments received free laptops.
In today’s digital world, computer literacy is an essential part of technical education. Access to a personal laptop enables students to engage more effectively in project-based learning, online research, practical assignments and other technology-driven academic activities.
Under the “One Student One Laptop” initiative, eligible students have the opportunity to receive a free laptop in their fourth semester based on their academic performance and fulfilment of the prescribed criteria. Since its introduction in 2019, the programme has continued to support students in developing their technical knowledge, practical skills and creativity through technology-supported learning.
The ceremony was attended by Farida Yasmin, Director (PIW), Joint Secretary, and Director General (Additional Charge) of the Directorate of Technical Education, as the Chief Guest.
Special guests included Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Group; Rathindranath Das, Executive Director, BTEB Affiliated Institutions, Daffodil Group; and K. M. Parvez Bobby, Deputy Director, BTEB Affiliated Institutions, Daffodil Group. The programme was presided over by S. M. Zahirul Islam Farhad, Acting Principal of Daffodil Polytechnic.
Through this long-running initiative, Daffodil Polytechnic continues to strengthen the connection between technical education and technology. By making digital learning tools accessible to deserving students, the institution aims to prepare a new generation of skilled, confident and industry-ready diploma engineers.
